Scout Group

Welcome to the 24th Macclesfield Methodists Scout Group.

We are a thriving Scout  Group with over 100 members enjoying fun and adventure based upon traditional scouting values.

There are lots of camps, sleepovers, outdoors visits, canoeing ,dry slope skiing together with the badgework that is still the backbone of scouting. Our aim is that each child should have the opportunity to achieve the Chief Scout Award  in each section.

Sections take part in various District wide competitions and regularly return with a trophy or two. We compete in the Handicraft Competition, Swimming Gala, the Macclesfield Hike and the Cheshire Hike.

And to ensure we all meet up from time to time we have Annual Group Christmas Show, with some star performance by the youngsters, a Group Camp in May,with about 60 happy campers, and a Quiz night in the autumn.
We have 20 qualified and experienced leaders who provide exciting and varied programmes in a safe environment.

Whilst we are pleased to be sponsored by the Methodist Church the Group is open to all boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 14.

Due to the high demand we run:

  • 2 Beaver Colonies for 6-8 year olds
  • 2 Cub Packs for 8-10.5 year olds
  • 1 Scout Group for 10.5-14 year olds

At the age of 14 years Scouts leave the Group and can join a local Explorer Scout Unit in the District. Meetings are held here at Macclesfield Methodist Church and also at our sister Methodist Church at Broken Cross.
